Your Neck’s Crying for Help—Let’s Fix That

Hello, fellow Soul Leader,

From Tech Neck to Total Zen

Ever feel like your neck is lowkey staging a protest? Like it’s got a megaphone yelling, “Hey you in the swivel chair! Quit treating me like a shelf for your stress!

Yeah. Been there.

If you work in marketing, music, or TV, odds are you’re hustling harder than your neck can handle.

Long edits. Endless emails. Meetings that should’ve been voice notes. And don’t even get me started on the head-tilt of doom during Zoom calls.

But here’s the truth, fellow soul leader: your neck pain isn’t normal. It’s a signal. A cry for change.

And guess what? You’re allowed to answer that cry without giving up your career, creativity, or cool points.

Let’s get into how to fix it—and reclaim your neck like the legend you are.

1. Your Desk Setup Might Be Sabotaging You (Yep, We’re Looking at You, Laptop Lovers)

Let’s talk ergonomics—but not in the boring, corporate compliance way.

I mean: Is your neck aligned like a proud giraffe or hunched like a question mark? Most of us unknowingly treat our desks like punishment stations.

Here’s what a neck-friendly setup actually looks like:

  • Screen at eye level (get a laptop riser or stack some books)

  • Chair supports your lower back (your spine deserves a throne, not a stool)

  • Wrists in line with elbows when typing

Small tweaks. Huge difference.

Your neck will throw a party in your honour.

2. Stress Loves to Live in Your Shoulders—and Rent Is Free

You’re in a pitch meeting. Your client’s changing the brief again. Your neck’s screaming, your shoulders are up near your ears, and you’re breathing like you forgot how.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the deal: Your neck pain isn’t always from poor posture—it’s also from unprocessed stress.

Stress likes to sneak in and set up camp in your trapezius muscles, those big boys that run from your neck to your shoulders.

Fix that with a triple threat:

Mindful breathing (inhale for 4, exhale for 6—repeat)

Shoulder rolls (backwards, forwards, both—get swirly with it)

Yoga stretches (hello, neck release pose and side bends!)

Your nervous system will thank you.

And so will your mood.

3. Your Phone Is Not Your Friend (Sorry, But It’s True)

Let’s be real: Tech neck is the new smoking.

Looking down at your phone for hours turns your head into a bowling ball of pain.

That Instagram scroll? That email spiral at midnight? That one “quick peek” at Slack?

All feeding your neck drama.

Let’s fix that:

  • Hold your phone up to eye level like a sacred scroll.

  • Set app limits (yep, even for TikTok).

  • Schedule breaks every 30-45 minutes to do a “neck check-in.”

The goal? Less bendy neck, more queen energy.

4. Movement Is Medicine—Even for the Neck

Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to train like an Olympian.

Just asking you to stop treating stillness like a badge of honour. Your body? It wants to move. Your neck? It needs to stretch. Your creative genius? It thrives when blood is flowing.

Three moves that’ll change your life (and your spine):

  • Cat-Cow (seated or standing—your call)

  • Ear to shoulder neck stretches (hold 10–15 seconds per side)

  • Spinal twists (to release tension and reset your posture)

Do these daily. Add breath. Feel better.

Rinse. Repeat.

5. It’s Not Just Physical—It’s Emotional, Too

I know, I know. You came here for neck pain fixes, not a therapy session. But hear me out.

Your neck connects your head and your heart. It’s the literal bridge between your thoughts and your truth.

So, when you’re holding back, people-pleasing, or ignoring your needs?

Yep. Your neck feels it. That stiffness? That dull ache? It’s unspoken tension.

Time to reclaim that space:

  • Say what you mean.

  • Drop the guilt.

  • Let your body lead for once.

Your neck pain might be less about your desk—and more about your boundaries.

Your Neck’s Crying for Help—Are You Ready to Listen?

Your neck is not broken. You are not fragile. You are not stuck.

But something needs to shift—and that shift starts with you.

It’s not about doing all the things, it’s about doing one small thing consistently.

Start with a better desk setup.

Or a daily stretch.

Or even just noticing when you’re holding tension like a trophy.

Because this pain? It doesn’t have to be your default.

What is your neck trying to tell you that your mind keeps ignoring?
